A fairy taile in Luberon
Hilltop villages, terracotta cliffs, and the flavors of Provence
Discover the refined beauty of the Luberon, a region where cinematic history, wartime heritage, and extraordinary natural landscapes converge. Journey through rolling vineyards and protected countryside to the hilltop villages of Gordes and Roussillon, renowned for their medieval architecture, commanding castles, and panoramic views. Walk through Roussillon’s remarkable ochre cliffs—often called Provence’s “Little Colorado”—a striking contrast of color and texture unique to the region.
This curated experience also celebrates Provençal gastronomy, with opportunities to enjoy seasonal flavors from local markets, charming bistros, and acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurants. Preserved for nearly 50 years as a Regional Natural Park, the Luberon offers an authentic and unspoiled escape, ideal for travelers seeking culture, nature, and understated elegance in the heart of Provence.

We begin in Lourmarin, where we visit the first Renaissance château built in Provence and pay our respects at the grave of renowned writer Albert Camus. Crossing the Luberon mountains, we enjoy sweeping scenic views before reaching Bonnieux, a hilltop village offering a striking perspective over the Château de Lacoste, once the residence of the Marquis de Sade.
After a leisurely walk through the village, the journey continues to Roussillon, celebrated for its ochre cliffs and vibrant façades—where Samuel Beckett spent time in hiding during World War II. The experience concludes in Gordes, dramatically set atop a limestone hill and widely regarded as one of France’s most beautiful villages. Gordes is home to a prestigious five-star hotel, a three-Michelin-star restaurant, and served as a filming location for Ridley Scott’s acclaimed film A Good Year.
