It was in Provence that Vincent van Gogh experienced the most intense and prolific period of his artistic life. As we travel through these landscapes—olive groves, golden fields, and radiant light—you will discover the places that deeply influenced his vision and gave birth to some of the most celebrated paintings in the world.

From the dramatic stone village of Les Baux to the quiet and sophisticated streets of Saint-Rémy, and finally to the vibrant city of Arles, this journey explores the profound connection between Van Gogh and Provence offering insight into how this region shaped one of the greatest painters in history.

The tour begins in the morning with a pickup in Marseille or Aix-en-Provence. Our first stop is Les Baux-de-Provence, a beautifully preserved medieval hilltop village perched above the Provençal landscape.

 

We then continue to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where we visit the former monastery-turned-asylum where Van Gogh voluntarily admitted himself and created some of his most iconic works.

 

The day concludes in the city of Arles, a remarkable place renowned for its extraordinary Roman heritage.
